Junior High (7 – 10)
Year 7 – 10
The adventure grows
Our students continue to live their classroom learning in real situations
Pastoral care
The transition to high school is like moving from the country to the city. It is exciting to move from one main teacher for all subjects to eleven specialist teachers for eleven subjects. To make sure no one gets lost, each student is in a small pastoral care group that meets each day.
Putting learning into practice
Students continue to live their learning in real situations. Our lessons are not confined to textbooks. Students learn to cook, so they cook treats for the school; students learn about insects, so they catch and display insects from around the school grounds; students learn about abstract art, so they create their own artwork representing the death and resurrection of Jesus.
A particular highlight is the Theatre Restaurant, where over 120 guests are served a delicious three-course-meal and entertained by a live stage production, all produced by Year 9 and 10. What better way to live your learning than blessing others.
Camps and excursions
Our camping program continues in high school. Year 7 Camp is at Camp Kedron. Year 8 Camp is at Lake Tabourie, including climbing Pigeon House Mountain. Year 9 serves the community of the Upper Blue Mountains in their Culture and Service Camp. Year 10 travels to Hobart, Tasmania, visiting the bottom of the world (or at least, Australia).
